Now after thirty years this unique, amazing music has returned for your listening pleasure in a new LP called ‘Spirals’.
Wondrous Fair was a band of six creative people who emerged out of Brisbane in the late 1980s and stayed together until the mid 1990s. Brothers Martin & Stephen Mackerras had been in Australia’s youngest composing pop band Tangled Shoelaces and both wrote lots of songs and played a few instruments, Michael Bouwman was in The Lamingtons and was a very expressive musician and artist, Deborah Cavallaro was a gifted artist and musician who played the Marimba (which gave WF their distinctive sound) she and Jeanette went on to form, and go on an international tour with Dragster & Golden Circles. Jeanette Gilfedder was a passionate violist and loved all new and innovative music (and was a member of Golden Circles) and finally Rodney Macallister was an excellent drummer, guitarist and songwriter. In fact, all the members wrote wondrous songs with poetic and humours lyrics. The last person to join was Leo Power on Drums.
